Five by Five with Gum
By Brenda B. Covert

1     Miss Bubble liked gum. She chewed gum every day! All the fruity and minty flavors tasted great.

2     One day Miss Bubble went to the store. She saw a sale on gum. It was a good deal. It gave Miss Bubble an idea.

3     "I will have a party!" she said. "We can play gum games!"

4     Each pack held five sticks of gum. Miss Bubble had twenty-five friends. How many packs would she need for everyone to get one stick of gum?

5     It would take a long time to count each stick of gum. Miss Bubble knew a quick way to count. She could count each pack by five. When she got to twenty-five, she would look to see how many packs she had.
