1     Not every job is a nine-to-five job. Many stores, restaurants, and other places work more than one shift. Some places stay open all night! Of course, you won't have to work twenty-four hours. Most shifts are eight hours or less.
 
2     You may not work the same hours each day. You may not work the same days each week. Because of this you need to be sure to read the work schedule each week.
 
3     Usually the work schedule is posted in a special place. It might be in the employee's break room. Or it might be on a special bulletin board. It will be somewhere where everyone can see it. You should check the schedule at least once a week.
 
4     Let's take a look at what a work schedule might look like:
