Keeping the Kitchen Clean
By Cathy Pearl

1     Cleaning the kitchen is an important part of cleaning the house. It is important because it helps to keep you and your family healthy. Making time to clean your kitchen will also help make cooking easier and will keep your kitchen looking less cluttered.

2     Have a place for everything in your kitchen. It is much easier to find what you are looking for and put it away if there is a certain place for it. Items that have their own drawer are always easy to find and easy to put away.

3     There are probably some places in your kitchen that manage to collect things every day. This could be a shelf where you set the mail or where items you bring home from work pile up. Take a few minutes to clean this spot every day. This will keep things from piling up.

4     Wipe the counters every day. Don't use a sponge for this job. A sponge is an easy place for germs to grow. When you are using a dirty sponge to clean, you are wiping germs all over your counters. Use paper towels and a cleaner made for the kitchen. These cleaners help to keep germs from making people in your house sick. Be sure to throw the towels away when you are done with them.
