1 Many people live in cities where there is no place to have a garden. If you are one of those people, there are other ways to grow things. One way is to grow flowers and plants in pots. This is sometimes called container gardening.
2 There are many good things about growing plants in pots. Pots are easy to move around. When the plants have flowers, you can move them into an area where people can see them. If a plant doesn't look healthy, you can move it to another room until it starts to look better.
3 Growing plants in pots also brings out the artist in you. There are many different pots that you can buy. You can buy something that is bright and colorful. If you are growing a plain green plant, this can help draw attention to it. Or if you are growing a large plant with bright flowers, you can buy a pot that matches the flowers.
4 You will need to match the plant size to the container. You can't put a big plant in a small pot. You shouldn't put a little plant in a big pot. This would just look silly. If the plant is too large for the pot, it may not grow well. The roots need room to spread out. If the pot is small, there won't be any room for them to do this.
