How Much Water Should You Drink?
By Patti Hutchison

1     Food and water. These things are necessary for our bodies to survive. We can go without food for about two months. But we can only go without water for a few days. Why is water so important to our bodies? There are many reasons.

2     An adult body is about sixty to seventy percent water. Water helps all our systems work properly. The cells in our bodies need water to do their jobs. Water also helps our bodies get rid of toxins that are harmful to us.

3     We lose water from our bodies every day. We lose it when we breathe. We also lose it when we sweat and when we go to the bathroom. It is important to replace this water we are constantly losing.

4     If you don't drink enough water, you won't feel well, and you won't look good, either. Your skin will be dry and itchy. You may get acne or nose bleeds. Not drinking enough can cause headaches and dry coughing. There can be more serious effects such as infections and dehydration.
