Psychology and Olympic Athletes
By Jennifer Kenny

1     What do you think of when someone says "Olympics"? Sports, athletes, competition, and games probably come to mind. These are all part of the physical aspect of the Olympics. In this modern day era, psychologists want the mental side of athletes to be addressed as well.

2     There is a growing field in psychology called sports psychology. It refers to the study of the mental factors associated with performance in sports and exercise. These sports psychologists focus on sports settings, coaches, teams, and athletes, as well as the connection between the mental and physical aspects of sports.
