1     Do you want to be a fashion designer? Would you like a chance to show off your talent? Well, here it is! Enter the medieval fashion design challenge!
 
2     Your challenge is to create one medieval outfit for a woman and one for a man. You may use wool, silk, or linen. Leather should be used for footwear, and warm outer garments may be lined in fur. Fabrics in their natural colors may be used. So may fabrics colored with natural plant dyes. Embellishments, or decorations, may include gold and silver embroidery and even gemstones. Headwear should be included with the woman's outfit but is optional with the man's outfit.
 
3     The winning designs will be beautiful outfits with an authentic Middle Ages style. To be sure that your style is authentic, read the following information.

Medieval Women's Clothing

 
5     Medieval women's clothing styles changed throughout the Middle Ages, but some things remained similar throughout the time period. Women wore long dresses, never pants or short skirts. Many dresses were so long that the hems lay on the floor. Dresses often had two or more layers. The under layer might have been a long white shift, a simple dress with long sleeves.
