¹     Who doesn't like music? It can make your feet tap. It can make your heart soar or break. It can complement the mood you're in. Music is all around us. It's on TV, on our radios and stereos, in our cars, on the phone when a business puts us on hold, in some stores, and even in some restaurants. Music is a part of many ceremonies, such as graduations, weddings, and funerals. No party is complete without music!
 
²     We have it easy when we're in the mood for tunes. We have lots of options in these modern times. Before there were radios, records, tapes, CD's, and mp3 players, there was only one way to listen to music. People had to be where musicians played. With the exception of tinkling music boxes, all music was live music.
 
³     A lone musician, perhaps one with a violin or harp, might play for an audience. More often, a group of musicians would provide the music. That group of musicians was called either an orchestra or a band.
