Wendy's World - Night and Day
By Jane Runyon

Wendy, Tess, and Tim were playing kickball. It was a warm summer evening. "I sure like playing outside," said Tess. "We still have enough light to see the ball."

"And we don't have to stay inside to keep warm," added Tim.

"I like it, too," said Wendy. "In the winter it gets dark much sooner."

"I don't know how it happens," said Tess. "I'm just glad we have more sunlight when it's warm."

"I just got a book about day and night at the library," said Wendy. "I found a lot of interesting information in it."

     "Like what?" asked Tim.

"The book started by telling a myth about the sun," replied Wendy.

     "What's a myth?" asked Tess.
