¹     Amenhotep IV paced back and forth in his throne room. His wife, Nefertiti, sat and watched him with a concerned look on her face.
 
²     The tall pharaoh shook his head. "I do not think the priests should be so oppressive," he said aloud. "They tell me, the pharaoh, and the people what we should believe and who we should worship! I must change this! The priests will not control my Egypt!"
 
³     Nefertiti stood from her chair and walked over to her husband. She reached up and put her hand on his shoulder. "It will be alright," she said soothingly. "You know what you must do."
 
⁴     Amenhotep stood tall and looked down at his wife, admiring her beautiful features. His hand went to her chin, and he lifted her face to his. "Yes, my lovely flower. I know what I must do. I will have my scribe come." The pharaoh sat on his throne next to his wife. He tapped his fingers on the armrest impatiently.
 
⁵     Shortly, the scribe entered and bowed before the king and queen. "You called for me?"
