Hot, Hot Wings

1     I like to eat hot wings. Do you like hot wings? They are chicken wings cooked in hot sauce. I eat them with carrot sticks. I dip the hot wings and carrot sticks in a white sauce. The white sauce is called ranch dressing. If your mouth gets too hot, you eat a carrot to cool off! The ranch dressing helps to cool off your mouth, too.

2     I made up a poem about hot wings. It goes like this:

3
           North, South, East and West
Hot wings are the very best!

4     My best friend played a joke on me. Sometimes I stay at his house after school. His mother, Mrs. Ross, fixes snacks for us. One day we rode the bus together and got off at his house. That day his mother made hot wings! She put some carrots and other crunchy veggies on a plate with the hot wings.

5     "Are those for us?" I asked. "It must be my lucky day!" I was hungry and happy.
