Penny the Purple Sheep

1     Penny lived with a large flock of sheep in a small town high in the mountains. She was pretty much like many other sheep - except for one thing. Her wool was bright purple, and everywhere she went people (and other sheep) would stare at her in shock. For the most part, Penny enjoyed the attention - that was until she noticed that the other sheep didn't want to spend time with her anymore.

2     "Why do they treat me like this?" she asked her Grandfather. "I'm not that different from them! I do all the same things, it's just that my wool is purple. All the other animals want to play with me -- Rachel Rabbit and Olson Owl just played "Bat the Balloon" with me. We asked the others if they wanted to play, but they just ran away." Big tears began to run out of Penny's eyes as she began to feel a shame that came from looking so different.
