Model Behavior

¹     Annika threw herself across her zebra-striped bed and flipped open the magazine. A teen model sensation, whose moniker was Tasha, graced the cover. Quickly Annika searched for the featured article about Tasha. The daughter of affluent parents, Tasha grew up with the best of everything. Some people – Annika thought with a sigh – had all the luck; others never had anything written about them.

²     Outlandish photographs of the teen beauty queen accompanied the article. Annika studied them first. In one photo Tasha wore a mirror-beaded mermaid costume. Her eyes looked luminous in the moonlight, and hair extensions flowed down her back. "Fish-tacular," Annika said.

³     Another shot showed Tasha's eyes heavily outlined in black, making them barely discernible. Her hair was spiky and looked as if it were radioactive. Tasha looked as if someone had used her to wax a car. "Note to self," Annika murmured. "Bad fashion statement. Do not copy." She turned her attention to a picture of the model wearing glittering jewelry and a voluminous dress. "She looks like a powder blue wedding cake!"
